Bekti Pertiwi dan Pisungsung Jaladri
The traditional ceremonies of Bekti Pertiwi and Pisungsung Jaladri represent gratitude to god for the efficacious harvest. It is also meant as a plea for the next successful harvest and for safety of the tourist on their visit to Parangtritis. It will be held on Tuesday, 31 may 2011, at the Pedapa in Parangtritis village, sub district of Kretek, Bantul. Bekti Pertiwi includes disposal of offerings, mass cleansing of sanctified place and kenduri (The Javanese Ritual Meal), while Peingsung Jaladri consist of floating the offering to the sea and laying foof offering on the sacred rock of Batu Gilang.
