BP2KY seek potential Central European Tourists

YOGYAKARTA – Promotion of tourism to other countries also carried out by the Yogyakarta Tourism Promotion Board (BP2KY). Not only in Asia, they also promoted to the Central European Region. The reason for promoting the tourism potential to the region of Central Europe, because until now tourists from the region is still minimal. “BP2Ky utilize the largest tourism exhibition in Europe namely Holiday World which took place in Prague, Czech Republic,” said Chairman BP2KY Deddy Pranowo Eryono, on returning from the event it, yesterday.

According to Deddy, not less than 50 countries participated in the exhibition. Representatives from Indonesia, instead of Jogjakarta, is also followed by representatives from Bandung and Bali. “They try to show a variety of destinations for tourism, performing arts and culture,” he said.
DIJ PHRI Secretary added that the remarks of the European community is extraordinary. They were many who did not know and so get an explanation about the potential of tourism in Yogyakarta, interested to come to Indonesia, especially Jogjakarta.
“Tourists from Czech to Jogjakarta still minimal. The presence of tourism marketing event like this is very nice and opened the door for information about Jogjakarta, “he said.
However, continued Deddy, Czech is a potential market. “Not only in tourism, it turns out they are open to cooperation in other fields and of course we follow up by reporting to the municipal government,” he continued.
Deddy agree if would be established sister city cooperation or cooperation in other fields. However, tourism promotion effort is also expected to attract investors in other sectors needed by the DIJ.
Holiday World itself has been held for a third time. BP2KY Party also received suport from the embassy in Prague. In fact, BP2KY already have a plan of cooperation with Czechs Tourism, sharing ideas about how to attract tourists go to Yogyakarta.
“This includes meetings with both print or electronic media of local, travel agents there, department of regional development of Jihlava Region, Ambassador of the Czech Republic, Travel writter in Czech and others,” he concluded. (Hes)
